MCCSSA-
ABOUT US

Our Leadership Core

MCCSA is governed by an eighteen member Board of Directors that equally represents the public, private, and poor community sectors of the original six chartered counties. Public and private members are appointed by the entities they represent, whereas those members representative of the poor are democratically elected in community meetings. MCCSA's Board of Directors, administrators and staff remain committed to providing quality programs and services in an effort to end the cycle of poverty and promote self-sufficiency in the lives of low income persons.

We've Grown

MCCSA's original charter counties included Clarke, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Newton and Wayne. More recently under the auspices of the Mississippi Department of Human Services Community Services Division, MCCSA's service area has been expanded to include the Community Service Block Grant, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and Weatherization services to residents of Neshoba, Scott and Smith counties. MCCSA has also extended its Adolescent Offender program services to Covington, Scott and Smith counties.

Community Impact

In 2003, MCCSA operated thirteen programs in its service area, designed to assist different members of the population. These programs included Adolescent Offender Program (AOP), Community Food and Nutrition, Community Service Block Grant, Families First Resource Center, Federal Emergency Management Administration, Foster Grandparent, Home Buyer Education, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Low Income Home Weatherization Assistance, Meals on Wheels, South Harbor Homeless Shelter, Stevenson Landmark Apartments and Strategies to Ensure Permanent Stability.
